Kia ora koutou katoa, ko Grace toku ingoa.
I am looking forward to continuing teaching Years 5 and 6 in Room 4 this year. Before moving to Toko, I spent several years teaching Year 3 and 4 in my hometown of Pōneke (Wellington). I studied at Te Herenga Waka (Victoria University of Wellington) and my qualifications include a Masters in Primary Teaching, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Education and Media Studies.
There is nothing better than the teaching and learning that is reciprocated each day between ākonga and kaiako within the classroom. Often I feel like tamariki teach me more than I teach them! I enjoy getting to know each student’s strengths and interests, and creating opportunities to explore these within the classroom. My favourite subjects to teach are Science and Art. This year, I look forward to working with another wonderful group of students and making the most of each day.
